Tyre Safety
Checking Tread Depths
To maintain an adequate safety margin we recommend
replacing tyres when the tread depth reaches 3mm.
The tread depth should be measured in the principle grooves as
shown. These grooves contain "tread wear indicators" and are
usually 6mm above the base of the groove. Measure each groove depth
across the tread width and in several places around the tyre
circumference.
Checking Tyre Pressures
The recommended tyre pressure for your vehicle can
be found in the vehicle handbook or on the placard mounted either
behind the petrol filler cap, or on the drivers door pillar. The
highway code recommends you check your tyre pressure once every
week for optimum efficiency and safety.
If you are unsure about how to check your tyres, just come down to
your local Williams dealership and one of our trained Tyre
Technicians will do the checks for you while you wait. You don't
even have to make an appointment.
